Madelyn Rebecca Shaffer
Hello! My name is Madelyn and I am a recent graduate from the Mathematics and Statistics department at McGill University. I am very passionate about learning, knitting, numerics, pottery, the board game Clue (a.k.a. Cluedo), and much more.
The purpose of this website is to compile my personal and education projects, as well as provide a bit of information about myself. Welcome!
Background and C.V.
I am originally from Audubon, Pennsylvania, where I attended Methacton High School and graduated in 2022. I then moved to Montreal, Quebec where I earned my B.A. with a Major concentration in Mathematics and two minor concentrations: one in Computer Science and the other in supplementary Mathematics. I finished my classes in the Fall of 2025, recieving my degree in February of 2026. I am currently in between jobs after I had to ubruptly leave my position in Paris. Right now, I spend my days traveling, working on personal projects, and applying to secondary mathematics teaching positions abroad.
I have been working full or part time since I was 16 years old, occupying positions in food service and childcare, but primarily in education. I have worked as a nanny, tutor, barista, teaching assitant, teacher, ceramics studio technician, and student.
